On February 12 at 6pm, Ourivesaria Tavares will inaugurate, in Galeria Espaço d`Ouro, the exhibit “The Mystery of the Birthstones, from geology to the fascination for jewellery”. It is a trip around the world of gemstones, their creative expressions and symbology.

Since ancient times that gemstones fascinate Mankind. Its value, beauty and mystery seduce us since the dawn of civilizations and cultures. Under this theme, Ourivesaria Tavares has reunited samples of gemstones associated to each month of the year, from rocks, raw and polished gemstones, to jewellery with various kinds of gems.

In order to mark the inauguration of this exhibit, Tavares invites everyone to attend the conference “Mankind and gemstones, beyond Science”, hosted by gemologist Rui Galopim de Carvalho, ijn restaurant Theatro at 9:30pm in Póvoa de Varzim.
