Portuguese Jewellery Guide: a script to (re)discover Portuguese jewellery
Data de Publicação: 01.09.2020

“Portuguese Jewellery Guide” is the new initiative of the Associação de Ourivesaria e Relojoaria de Portugal (AORP) to promote Portuguese jewelery outlets, through a script and an agenda of events, all over the country.

From traditional stores to creator design studios, from concept stores to collective projects, the jewelry trade is now a showcase for a revamping industry. This guide invites you to learn about this new dynamic by promoting free admission events.

On the agenda you will find proposals for all tastes, from exhibitions, cocktails, collection launches and even a guided tour of a historic shop. “Portuguese jewellery is changing and trade is one of the most visible faces of this change. Whether due to legal changes or adaptation to new consumer dynamics, we have seen a boom in new stores and a restructuring of more traditional stores in recent years. But it is important to get this message to the public and we do it as a celebration, “explains Nuno Marinho, president of AORP.

The script of this first edition included examples of traditional goldsmiths known to reinvent themselves – Machado Joalheiro (Porto), Ourivesaria Tavares (Póvoa de Varzim) and Arneiro 1969 (Sintra), two private label spaces – Eugénio Campos (Porto), Mesh (Porto) and Made to Envy (Lisbon), as well as creator design workshops – Diogo Dalloz (Porto), Cris Maria Jewelry (Lisbon) and Joana Mota Capitão (Lisbon).
