According to the Observador, Spanish justice is investigating Tous. At issue is the complaint of a consumer association that says that the known bear pendants have in their composition a non-metallic material.
Audiencia Nacional, a Spanish central court, opened an investigation into the jewelry and accessories brand Tous, following a complaint by Consujoya (Asociación de Consumidores y Usuarios de Joyería), a consumer association that will have detected pieces produced using a non-metallic material and sold as being made with 18 and 24 carat gold and first-rate silver, according to the newspaper El Mundo.
Proving this accusation, Tous incurs the crimes of misleading advertising, document forgery, fraud and corruption in the private sector.
