The INCM (Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office) presented the plan to reopen the assay offices. The resuming of activity will begin on the 4thof May in a partial and step-by step way.
According to the APIO – the Portuguese Goldsmith Industry Association, this plan provides for the resuming of the assay office’s activity for the first working day following the end of the decreed state of emergency and has provided 3 phases.
In the first phase, the delivery of articles by mail that had remained there for testing and marking is anticipated. In the second phase, new items are to be received by mail for testing and marking and delivered in the same way. Finally, the third stage already provides for the possibility of access to the facilities with prior scheduling for the delivery and collection of items.
