More than a hundred watch experts from all over the world attended this meeting. Influencers, specialist retailers and watchmakers discussed traditional craftsmanship, extreme vertical integration, high-tech and ultra-precision, and the legally protected designation of origin that is ‘Glashütte’.
“The aim of this year’s NOMOS Forum was to get an idea of where Glashütte and the world of watches are headed,” revealed Uwe Ahrendt, CEO of NOMOS Glashütte. “After 175 years of tradition, today marks the first day of the next 175 years of watchmaking. Mission accomplished,” Ahrendt stated.
Held in the city’s old church since 2020, the NOMOS Glashütte symposium aims to promote “conversation and raise awareness of opportunities and critical issues”.
