‘Applied Gemology for Jewellers and Designers’, already in its 3rd edition, is a series of conferences presenting the challenges of choosing stones for jewellery when only having a basic gemological knowledge to fit the aesthetic, fashion and budget criteria. The sessions will take place via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the 18th to the 27th of April, 2023.
The live online seminar includes four one-hour sessions: ‘Durability and stability of gemstones’; ‘Avoiding damage’; ‘Quantity’, and ‘Planning a diamond ring’. The course targets jewellery designers, artists, and bespoke jewellery makers, as well as beginners and students in the fields of jewellery and gemology.
The level is basic to intermediate, with the sessions conducted in simple and direct language and the contents being relatively accessible to most viewers. However, a basic knowledge of gemstones is recommended in order to get the most out of this seminar.
