The Luis Morais brand “landed” in Portugal by the hand of the Relógios Plus Boutique, which expands in this way their offer in the strategic segment of the luxury jewelry business. Created by Luis Morais – a Brazilian designer, with Portuguese parents -, and based in the United States, this renowned jewelry brand is now present exclusively in the Relógios Plus ART Boutique, on Av. da Liberdade, in Lisbon.

More than 25 years ago, in Miami, Florida, Luis Morais started his jewelry line, by recreating bracelets that captivated him. Nowadays, he is known as a highly regarded jewelry designer, that creates pieces of luxury with a rock-and-roll spirited, relaxed vibe. His jewelry – bracelets, necklaces, rings, and charms – are elegant, sophisticated, and enveloping, embodying references to religions and cultures, history and modernity, nature and industry, all this conceived after a careful reflection. Pieces with a strong individuality concept, which differs the brand from the remaining in the market.

Describing the brand’s philosophy, Luis Morais states: “It is a jewel to be used full-time, it is not a jewel for special occasions. I think we have to buy things we can use all the time, or not, but that we can use without it being a special occasion. I use precious materials, others that are not, but that I transform into precious ones. The beauty is always in our eyes, and the worth is always within what we think it is worth”.

The majority of the Luis Morais collections, about 90%, are composed of bead jewelry with precious and non-precious stones, made in Miami. The remaining pieces, that require construction and more complex mechanisms like, for example, the Hardware collection pieces, are produced in New York. The majority of the jewels are made with 14k gold. The beads that are used can be made of glass, precious or semi-precious stone. Besides, reflecting the concern and carefulness towards the environment, the brand has incorporated recycled materials in its piece’s creation, like rubber and vinyl discs.
