Ideal for collectors and haute horlogerie experts, BYRNE’s new piece is an example of the brand’s innovation, expanding its interpretation of timekeeping. New elements such as the case – thinner, sleeker, and lighter, the caliber, the diameter, the dial, and the color arouse curiosity.
When the GYRO DIAL was unveiled in 2022 by John Byrne, the watch showed a distinctive and modern identity, offering a dial that could vary according to the wearer’s mood. After worldwide acclaim came the GYRO DIAL MECA, which, for the creator, was a technical and aesthetic challenge: an elegant and sport-chic look in advanced engineering.
In the concept of ‘One watch, four faces’, the indicators (Roman, Arabic, ‘ghost’ and ‘sport’) at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock are metal cubes that rotate mechanically and synchronously at midnight or whenever desired. The exceptional dial is in ‘Meteorised Blue’, as are the indicators and the rubber strap, obtained by superimposing two layers of rhodium plating, and the Super-LumiNova® highlights guarantee legibility and visual comfort.
Inspired by the rear silhouette of the Porsche 911, the case is made of grade 5 titanium, 38mm in diameter and 12.5mm thick. The crown, set at midnight and made of the same material, is engraved with a ‘1’, symbolizing the top of the podium. The new manufacture caliber with manual winding meets the highest standards: skeletonized and visible on the case back in anti-reflective sapphire glass. In addition to the design, the 60-hour power reserve and water resistance to 50 meters are also impressive.
