On November 8, the façade of the historic Rua de Santa Catarina store transformed into a true stage of emotions, where light danced to music in a magical dialogue between technology, art, and the Christmas spirit.
This was the most ambitious edition ever — a record-breaking investment marking the start of the brand’s centenary celebrations in 2026. Fifty professionals, including designers, engineers, producers, and artists, collaborated to create a moment destined to remain in the city’s memory.
The show combined light, music, and live performance in a staging concept reminiscent of the grand European Christmas events, yet infused with Porto’s own spirit.
With 13 kilometers of light cables — nearly two full laps around the perimeter of Porto — and state-of-the-art Smart LED technology, each color and musical note was orchestrated in perfect harmony.
When the lights came on, the city was filled with wonder. Children’s eyes widened, families gathered, and spontaneous applause filled the streets. Christmas had begun — and Marcolino was making it happen.
“We want Porto to shine like never before. This show is our gift to the city — a tribute to light, time, and the sharing that have defined Marcolino for nearly a century,” said Miguel Neves, COO of the brand.
The evening also featured musical performances and surprises that delighted the audience. Inside the store, an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication welcomed clients and guests with exclusive experiences and carefully curated details.
