Marcolino, one of Portugal’s most emblematic watchmaking and jewellery houses, celebrates its centenary in 2026 with a wide-ranging programme of initiatives that honours its history, its people, and its deep connection to the city of Porto, while projecting the brand into the next 100 years.
Under the concept “100 Years Telling Stories”, the Marcolino Centenary Celebrations are structured as a true ecosystem of moments – cultural, artistic, institutional, and social – aligned with the brand’s global strategy: preserving its legacy, strengthening its identity, and asserting a contemporary, relevant, and international vision.
“Marcolino’s centenary is not just a celebration of the past. Above all, it is a commitment to the future, to the city, to people, and to the values that brought us here,” emphasizes Miguel Neves, COO of the company.
A programme shaped by people, heritage and emotion
The celebrations began with a symbolic moment dedicated to Marcolino’s people – employees, partners, and family – through the production of an institutional video paying tribute to those who have built the brand over generations.
This gesture of recognition to the people who are part of the brand’s history is also materialized in the delivery of the 100-year Pin, a symbol of this centennial trajectory and Marcolino’s enduring bond with the city and its community.
The urban and heritage dimension is expressed through the illumination of Marcolino’s historic façade, marked with the centenary logo, transforming the building into a living, communicative element of the city for several months.
The brand’s history will also be explored in depth through a commemorative book developed in partnership with historian Francisco Queiroz, addressing not only Marcolino’s trajectory but also the evolution of watchmaking and jewellery in Portugal and its connection to Porto.
Community, culture and city
The programme also includes a strong social dimension, with a charitable initiative in partnership with the Centro Paroquial Nossa Senhora da Vitória, reinforcing Marcolino’s commitment to the community where it was born and grew.
On the cultural and artistic front, highlights include urban and artistic intervention projects, competitions open to young creators, and a temporary exhibition to be announced soon, positioning Marcolino as an active agent in the city’s cultural life.
The grand celebration moment
The celebrations will culminate in the Centenary Gala Dinner, scheduled for September 24, 2026 – an exclusive, highly sophisticated event bringing together clients, partners, public figures, and institutional representatives in a collective celebration of Marcolino’s journey.
100 years later, time continues to count
With this program, Marcolino reaffirms itself as a living, profoundly contemporary brand – a house that understands time not only as a measure, but as legacy, responsibility, and vision.
