Wristwatch use vs mobile phone/smartwatches

The topic is recent and much has been written and will be written about it. History may help to explain the phenomenon. Throughout it, we witness changes in tastes, trends, and fashions.

Despite the Smartwatch mania being on the rise, coated with novelty and fashion, the product is still far from being ripe, and therefore, mutations will be constant – the truth is that the biggest players in this market are still struggling with the operating system.

Let’s go back to the beginning of the 90s of the last century, back then, we witnessed the same phenomenon, at the time between MS-DOS and MACHINTOSH. The structure still affects the functionality and pushes the consumer to a watertight choice: ANDROID or IOS.

It is indisputable that technological innovation has brought us a new product, fully digital and with functionalities far beyond the wristwatch concept as we knew it. The use of a watch takes on a new standard in what the user expects from the object that he carries on his wrist; it goes beyond just guiding him through Time.

And so, the wristwatch vs mobile phone perspective is perfectly parallel. That is, the use of a Smartwatch on the wrist and the use of a mobile phone are complementary. The first is meaningless without the second.
