At the age of 89, architect Álvaro Siza Vieira has unveiled his latest creation, the Lebond Automatic Mechanical Watch. Siza’s artistic vision and attention to detail whilst working at Lebond Watches and his skills are evident in every aspect of this watch.
The inspiration for the watch came from the Leça swimming pool, which Siza designed in 1966, when he was 28 years old. The shape of the watch case was based on the square main pool, and the watch hands were adapted from the minimal signs that Siza used in numerous projects.
The watch is made from grade 5 titanium, chosen by Siza because of its lightweight build and beautiful micro-sanded matt finish. The strap is made from black FKM rubber and includes a clasp for comfort and durability. The back of the watch features the exposed movement, while the “A. Siza” floats on the sapphire glass, making this watch a timeless piece.
The Lebond Siza Watch is an exceptional timepiece that perfectly combines style and functionality, showcasing the architect’s talent for creating minimalist and elegant designs.
