How was AutoQuartzo born?

AutoQuartzo’s history began more than 25 years ago, on Avenida Almirante Reis, where we still maintain our roots today, always with the aim of becoming the main national reference in watch repair. AutoQuartzo was born with the mission of offering technical support to the world’s most prestigious watchmaking brands and this has been our journey over the years. We have built relationships of trust with our customers and partners, always with the aim of offering a service of excellence, allowing our portfolio of brands to grow over the years. We have highly qualified and dedicated professionals who share the same love of watchmaking. We want to continue to grow as an atelier specializing in watchmaking, both in Portugal and in collaboration with international houses and clients. Our commitment is to be the benchmark in the sector, providing our clients not only with an impeccable technical service, but also with an experience of care and dedication that only those who truly love watches can offer.

How are you set up and what do you look for in each member of your team?

We have an administrative team that takes care of all the logistical support, a workshop made up of watchmakers and polishers focused on excellence in execution, and a customer service team that warmly welcomes our clients. In total, we have 17 employees, including eight watchmakers and two polishing technicians. At AutoQuartzo, we value passion for watchmaking. Each member of our team must have a keen eye for detail, high technical skills and a constant desire to learn and perfect their watchmaking knowledge. With the constant evolution and demands of the brands, our technicians regularly take part in training at the manufacturers. We are always looking to the future and, with this in mind, we have an internship agreement with the Casa Pia de Lisboa Watchmaking School. Our aim is to support and nurture the next generation of master watchmakers in Portugal. This year, we welcomed two trainees to our workshop, and next year we hope to welcome even more students, with the aim of helping to solidify the knowledge acquired, demonstrating its applicability in the day-to-day running of a watchmaking workshop and sharing the passion and commitment to excellence that define AutoQuartzo.

How do you build a brand like AutoQuartzo?

Building a brand like AutoQuartzo takes years of consistency and commitment with quality, earning the trust of the most renowned haute horlogerie brands. We started out with a clear vision of offering exceptional services and so we built our path like that. The trust and loyalty of our clients are earned through each interaction making sure each watch is treated with care and respect. We invest in continuous training and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that we can meet the needs of the most modern watches as well as antique and rare pieces. In 2023, we felt the time was right to strengthen our positioning on the market. We thus launched our new signature – “Time, with precision.”, which reinforces the brand’s positioning in the market, where we believe we are recognized for our experience, technical qualifications and the professionalism of the team. The AutoQuartzo team has been increased by three watchmakers, a polisher, an operations manager and an atelier manager. This change stems from the vision we have for AutoQuartzo and our ambition to become partners with other international watchmaking workshops, as is currently the case with Rolex, Bell & Ross, Cartier, Chopard, Cvstos, Franck Muller, Girard-Perregaux, Graham, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Junghans, Oris, Montblanc, Panerai, Raymond Weil, TAG Heuer, Tudor and Versace.
