“The Depths of Time”, an exhibition about the history of Panerai
Data de Publicação: 09.18.2025

Panerai has opened “The Depth of Time” at its Florence boutique, a historical exhibition that pays homage to its legacy as a supplier to the Italian Navy and celebrates the pivotal moment when it established itself as a benchmark in international mechanical watchmaking. The exhibition traces the brand’s evolution, from its time supplying the Royal Italian Navy to its emergence, in 1993, as a renowned watchmaker beyond the military.

The journey begins with orders from the Italian Navy in the 1910s and highlights key moments in technical development and functional evolution represented by never-before-released archival material, such as personal correspondence between the Panerai family and the Marina Militare, technical drawings, old catalogs, and original historical photographs.

Also on display are instruments such as compasses and depth gauges, along with historic clocks and patent reproductions that document the brand’s pioneering advances in luminosity, underwater legibility, and instrument design.

The exhibition is on display at the flagship boutique in Florence, the Maison’s hometown, and will be on display for two months. It’s an unmissable experience to discover the brand’s history before it becomes available to the general public. The Florentine exhibition also marks the beginning of a world tour that, after Europe, will travel to the United States and China.
