Its launch took place on the symbolic Restoration of Independence Day, December 1st, a date chosen consciously. Since then, it has continued to inspire watchmaking in Portugal.
“The IPR was created for collectors and enthusiasts to think about, study, and promote watchmaking in Portugal,” the organizers stated.
Throughout this journey, the organization has consolidated a strong presence in the world of watchmaking: it has promoted conferences (the RODAS), trained more than 200 students, held two major national fairs dedicated to independent and vintage watchmaking, published thousands of specialized articles, and structured a wide network of watchmakers and restoration services.
Furthermore, he created vocational training programs, facilitated the creation of new watch brands, and launched the Les Tugas project, honoring Portuguese people connected to watchmaking both inside and outside the country.
