Marina de Portimão® has been awarded “Best Marina in Southern Europe” at the World Luxury Travel Awards 2025, whose gala ceremony took place in Barcelona. The distinction results from public voting and assessment by an international panel of experts, recognising excellence in service, attention to detail, quality of facilities, style and design, efficiency, customer feedback, marketing, diversity, location and the expertise of Marina de Portimão®.

Created to celebrate excellence and innovation in luxury tourism, the World Luxury Travel Awards are among the sector’s most prestigious distinctions, annually honouring hotels, resorts, spas and, more recently, marinas from around the world. Competing entities are assessed at several levels – country, region, continent and global – and recognised for the quality of the experience they offer to visitors.

Located in the heart of the Algarve, next to the Arade estuary, Marina de Portimão® stands out for its modern infrastructure, with capacity for 620 vessels, including superyachts up to 50 metres, and a comprehensive, bespoke service of reference. Open 365 days a year, it welcomes vessels from more than 20 nationalities, with direct access to some of the region’s most beautiful beaches and caves.

“This distinction is a milestone of great pride for the entire Marina de Portimão® team and a recognition of the daily work we do to ensure unique and memorable experiences for those who visit us”, says Ricardo José, Operations Director of Marina de Portimão®.

For João Machado da Silva, CEO of Marina de Portimão®, “being named the Best Marina in Southern Europe’ is a testament to the dedication of everyone who contributes to this project, but also to the potential that Portimão and the Algarve have to establish themselves as leading nautical destinations, capable of competing at the highest international level. We intend to invest increasingly in quality, innovation, sustainability and internationalisation, reinforcing our position as a benchmark in luxury nautical tourism and in the region’s economic and tourism development”, he adds.
